ASHLEY DANNA

DuGood Member Since 2011

Ashley DannaNew graduate. New job. New city. For Ashley Danna, an exciting new chapter was just beginning. She was settling into life in Houston and pursuing her passion to help others at Literacy Now, a non-profit committed to transforming the lives of students and families through the power of reading.

This is what she had worked so hard for—but something was holding her back.

During her college years and time as a graduate student, Ashley accumulated credit card debt, and it was starting to take its toll. She felt stressed and financially insecure.

"It hindered my ability to enjoy moments with loved ones… and it was starting to create burnout in all the great work I’m a part of in the community," said Danna.

That’s when she reached out to DuGood.

A Family Connection

Ashley was no stranger to the credit union. Ten years earlier, her dad, Rick, a long-time member, suggested that she join when she was attending Lamar University.

"Even after transferring schools to a different state and having not lived in Beaumont since 2012, DuGood always remained a source of support," Danna said.

The credit union helped her with a personal loan, so she could consolidate her debt. The savings she experienced each month was game-changing.

Instead of struggling to make minimum payments on all her credit cards, DuGood gave Ashley the freedom to pay towards her principal balance.

"I’ll be able to pay off my debt in half the amount of time it would take if I would not have consolidated," she said.

Caring Staff

During Ashley’s travels as a student, she could have easily chosen to do business with another financial institution. What made her stick with DuGood? It came down to the level of service she received form the staff.

"Their team cares about me and the community," Danna said. "For four years, Catrina has been my loan officer. In that time, she has always remained patient, compassionate, knowledgeable, and responsive. I feel confident that she has my best interests in mind—as she always provides options that would benefit me most."

Doing Good for Years to come
