How much does it cost to open a Savings Account?
A minimum deposit of $5 is required to open a Savings Account.
Other than the deposit, what do I need to open a Savings Account?
In order to open a Savings Account with DuGood, you will need a valid driver's license or state ID, and you'll need to know your Social Security Number. Students may use their school ID.
Does DuGood offer a savings program for children?
Yes. Children 12 years and younger are eligible for our DuPup Club.
Upon opening an account for your child, you will receive a DuPup Club stamp card. Every time you bring your child to the credit union and make a deposit into the account, you will receive a stamp. Once the stamp card is full, your child can redeem it for fun prizes.
The credit union also holds several prize giveaways each year for our DuPup Club members.
How old do you have to be to open a Savings Account?
At DuGood, we believe it's never too early to start healthy savings habits. We offer savings accounts for all ages.
If you are under 18 years of age, you will need a parent or legal guardian to be joint owner on the account with you.
Who is eligible to open a Savings Account at DuGood?
Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or worships in Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, or Tyler Counties.
What is a Health Savings Account?
A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged savings plan that can be used to pay for current and future qualified medical expenses.
What are some benefits of having a HSA?

- Flexibility- Contributions can be made at any time during the year. Plus, there is no "use it or lose it" rule. Your balance rolls over from year to year
- Protection- You can save money to pay high or unexpected medical bills
- Savings- Enjoy triple the savings¹, tax deductible contributions, tax-free earnings through investments, and tax-free withdrawals for qualified medical expenses
- Controllable- You control the way HSA funds are spent and invested. You can place your money in a savings, checking², or certificate³. Plus, the account is completely portable; it goes where you go
- Convenient- Access at any DuGood location, Online Banking, or Telephone Account Access. You can also set up your HSA as a checking… you’ll be able to write checks or make payments with a debit card
How can I open a HSA?
Stop by any DuGood locations to speak with a credit union representative who can walk you through the process.
Things to consider:
- Must have a savings account before opening a certificate
- Must be covered by a High Deductible Health Plan
- Cannot be covered by other health plans
- Cannot be enrolled in Medicare
- May not be claimed as a dependent on anyone else’s tax return

Who do I contact to get assistance or file a claim for services provided by Advantage Checking?
In order to file a claim, call:
- Identity D Theft Protection: call 1 (866) 210-0361.
- Cell Phone Coverage: call 1 (866) 210-0361 within 60 days of damage or theft.
- Roadside Assistance, Emergency Travel Assistance, Pet Coverage: call 1 (877) 275-2995, and the service rep will contact available companies to assist you.
What if I decide I want to discontinue my Advantage Checking?
No problem. If you decide you would like to revert back to our Basic Checking, contact our Member Services team at (409) 899-3430 and complete our form to opt out.
How long does it take to get a debit card?
Getting a debit card only takes a few minutes! Just stop by your local branch, and our staff can issue you one instantly.
How do I activate my debit card or change my debit card PIN?

How do I report a lost or stolen debit card?

How do I report debit card fraud?

Is there a daily spending limit on debit cards?
Yes. The daily limit on debit cards is $1,500 for point of sale transactions and $500 for ATM transactions.
Is there a charge for replacing your debit card?
Yes. You can replace your debit card for just $10.
How can I redeem my Scholarship Rewards?
When you're ready to redeem your Scholarship Rewards, stop by your local branch and ask for a redemption form. Our staff will be happy to help you complete it and submit it for processing.
Redemption requests typically take 5-7 business days to be completed. Once your request has been successfully completed, your money will be deposited into the DuGood account of your choice.
